Crowns

A crown is a permanent covering that fits over an original tooth that is either decayed, damaged or cracked. Crowns are made of a variety of different materials such as porcelain or gold. Porcelain generally has the most natural appearance and here at Smile Sarasota we use only the highest quality, USA-made porcelain materials.

The Process for Laboratory Crowns:

  • We will numb the tooth to remove the decay and re-sculpt the tooth to provide an ideal fit for the crown.
  • Taking an impression of your teeth in order to create a custom- made crown.
  • Making a temporary crown and fitting it onto the tooth during the interim period when the permanent custom-made crown is being created.
  • Removing the temporary crown and fitting the permanent crown onto the tooth.
  • After ensuring that the crown has the proper look and fit, Dr. Still bonds it into place.
  • This process generally consists of a minimum of 2 visits over a two and a half week period to allow for laboratory fabrication.

Veneers

A beautiful smile can not only make a lasting impression, but also, it is essential for the proper function of your teeth and jaws. Misshapen or crooked teeth are more prone to plaque and tartar buildup due to food being easily trapped between your teeth. At Smile Sarasota, we strive to provide quality cosmetic dentistry services in the Sarasota, Florida area in order to improve your smile and oral health. Our dental veneer treatment is a great alternative to an otherwise more invasive dental procedure to improve the appearance of your smile.

Veneers are made from a thin piece of porcelain that is made to match the natural color of your teeth. These shells are shaped to fit over the front of your teeth and can provide the same strength and resilience as your tooth enamel. Once your teeth are ready and prepped for the procedure, the veneer will be bonded to your teeth with a special cement for long lasting wear. In most cases, veneer application from our Sarasota, FL dentist can be accomplished within 2 office visits.

Benefits of Our Veneer Treatment

For teeth that are discolored, misshapen, or chipped, veneers can help you achieve the smile you’ve always desired in the most natural way possible. Also, the materials that are used on veneers make them less susceptible to stains from tea, coffee, and other foods.

Aside from its aesthetic purpose, porcelain veneers can improve your oral function by

  • Making your teeth more symmetrical and proportionate
  • Establishing a smooth arch to your bite
  • Restoring cracked or chipped teeth for a healthier smile

Teeth Whitening

A beautiful smile can leave a great and lasting impression. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that teeth whitening services are growing in popularity and are one of the most requested cosmetic dental services offered at Smile Sarasota. Our goal is to ensure that we meet the needs of every patient by offering a variety of options for a whiter and brighter smile. Dr. Adam Still, our dedicated and friendly Sarasota dentist, will work closely with you and perform an oral exam to find out if our teeth whitening service is right for you.

Causes Of Teeth Discoloration

No matter how straight and perfect your teeth are, it is natural for the enamel to change color or become stained. Over time, outside or natural factors can contribute to the discoloration of your teeth. These causes may include:

  • Foods and drinks such as berries, coffee, tea, and red wine
  • Medicines such as antibiotics
  • Genetics and aging
  • Use of tobacco

In order to restore your teeth to their natural white, our teeth whitening solution may help.

Teeth Whitening At Our Sarasota Dental Office

Although there are many over the counter tooth whitening systems available for purchase, professional tooth whitening at our Sarasota dental office is much stronger than whitening toothpastes and at-home whiteners. This is due to having more peroxide in our whiteners to effectively speed up the whitening process as opposed to using other methods.

We offer an in-office whitening called Sinsational Smile®. This system uses a fast and effective technology with our patented pre-filled silicone tray. It allows the jaw to remain relaxed and the patient to feel comfortable throughout the 20 minute procedure. An LED accelerating light is used to help activate the gel’s whitening ingredients at a faster rate, resulting in a brighter smile and whiter teeth in less time. As part of your procedure, you’ll receive a take-home maintenance pen to further extend your new brighter smile! You will have little to no sensitivity with this product and the best part is that it’s Green Certified!

We also offer at-home whitening using custom trays. This involves taking impressions so we can fabricate the trays which will be delivered to you in just a few days, along with tubes of Opalesence bleaching gel. Opalescence take-home whitening gel is perfect for people who are looking for a variety of treatment options. With four different concentrations and three flavors, you can wear Opalescence for as little as 30 minutes per day or even overnight! Dispensed only by a licensed dental professional, Opalescence take-home whitening gel allows you to get professional whitening results at your convenience in a safe, effective, and customized way!
